Application Fees
Application fee must be paid in advance.
How to apply
Students (or their parent or legal guardian, if under the age of 18) must
complete and sign the Application Form and provide it to the local ESL
representative with the Application Fee of €30. If there is no ESL
representative, students should fax, e-mail or use the electronic form from ESL
website www.easysl.com, together with the fee to ESL (with payment by credit
card or bank transfer as shown under Method of Payment.)
Course Confirmations
ESL will send written Application Acknowledgement, Course Confirmation and
Invoices, within five working days of receiving the student's Application Form
and fee. ESL will send written confirmation of accommodation details and
airport transfer information as soon as it is available.
In the unlikely event that ESL does not accept the student's application, all
money paid by the student will be refunded in full.
Course Payment
ESL will invoice the student/agent for tuition and accommodation. This invoice
must be paid 2
weeks prior to the course start date. ESL reserves the right not to accept a
student for tuition should the net balance on course fees or packages not
received by ESL 2 weeks before the coursestart date. In case of students
requiring a Visa Application Support to enter Malta, payment of Invoice must be
made in full prior to Confirmation Letter and Letter of Invitation being sent.
Should the visa not be granted by the competent authorities, all money paid by
the student, except for the Application Fee and Visa Support Fee if applicable,
will be refunded in full.
One - Time Fees
A one-time Application Fee of €30 is required for all international applicants
when submitting an application. IMPORTANT: All ESL fees are subject to change
without notice.
Methods of payment
Application fee and course fees can be paid in different ways: by SWIFT, by
banker's draft or by credit card. Please see "Methods of Payment " for details.
Student complaint procedure
If a student needs to make a complaint, or feels uncomfortable for any reason,
he/she must contact the school administration without delay. Complaints that
have not been brought to the attention of the school administration during the
student’s stay will not be addressed at a later date
Confidential course and services evaluation
Students agree to complete a confidential course and services evaluation and
deliver it to administration at least 2 days prior to the end of the course.
Cancellation, withdrawal and refund policy
In case of any cancellation through no fault of the Company, all fees paid
(except the Application Fee and Visa Support Fee if applicable) will be
refunded in full, provided that cancellation notice is received at least 2
weeks prior to the course start date. If cancellation notice is received within
2 weeks, there will be a cancellation fee of 25%, if received within 1 week,
there will be a cancellation fee of 50%.
In the event that all single rooms in families have been allocated, ESL holds
the right to allocate sharing rooms refunding any difference in costs to the
student. In the event that all family accommodation is allocated, ESL reserves
the right to make alternative arrangements of comparable lodging.
Prices and details for hotels, guesthouses and self-catering apartments are
available upon request.
Should a student be dismissed for any disciplinary reasons, no refunds will be
given.
Failure to arrive
Students failing to arrive to Malta within 5 days following their course start
date shall not be refunded of any fees, costs and other expenses they have paid
or incurred.
Minimum age
There is a minimum age of 11 years for students participating in Young Learner
Residential Courses. There is a minimum age of 18 years for students
participating in adult courses. There is no upper age limit.
Insurance
All international students who study with ESL are strongly encouraged to have
adequate health and travel insurance.
Attendance policy
ESL students are required to attend at least 80% of scheduled classes and to
complete all homework assignments. Failure to do so may result in the
withholding of course certificates. If a student repeatedly does not attend
classes without giving 2 hours advance notice, disciplinary action may be
taken. In the case of any student requiring a visa to study in Malta failing to
attend classes regularly, the appropriate authorities will be informed by ESL
of any such failure. If a student regularly misbehaves or causes disturbance of
any kind whatsoever or fails to observe school policies guidelines and/or
regulations he/she will be subject to any disciplinary action whatsoever as ESL
may deem fit. In such cases the student will have no right or pretension of any
refund whatsoever.
Liability
ESL (and its employees, agents, directors and representatives) shall not be
liable for any loss, damage, illness or injury that may be caused or incurred
howsoever to any student, person or property, to the extent allowed by law.If,
despite this provision, ESL is found liable for any loss or damage suffered or
caused by any student, that liability shall in no event exceed the total amount
of the total sum already paid by the student for the course fees or package.
