We offer exam preparation courses for the following exams: 

  • Cambridge FCE, CAE, KET and PET  

These courses, ending with the student sitting for an exam are designed for different levels of language ability. Depending on your level of English, when starting the course, you will be steered towards the correct final exam.

Lessons per week – 30 group
Start date – 10 or 12 weeks before exam date
Class size – Maximum 8
Levels – Intermediate to Advanced

First Certificate in English (FCE) & Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)

At Easy School of Languages, three times a year we run exam preparation courses for students wishing to sit for the FCE & CAE examinations.  Both the FCE & CAE examinations are widely recognised in individual university faculties and other educational institutions as well as in commerce and industry.
In the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF): FCE is at level B2 and CAE is at level C1.

The FCE & CAE Exam & Preparation Course Structure:

Reading - This exam paper consists of different parts, each containing text and questions. You will be encouraged to improve your skimming and scanning skills and increase your reading speed. You will also be trained on how to improve your comprehension in order to answer the multiple-choice, gapped text and multiple matching questions which you will face in the exam paper.

Writing – This part of the exam consists of two parts which carry equal marks. In Part 1, you will be supplied with information and then will be required to write a letter or an e-mail, or for CAE it could even be a report or proposal. In Part 2, there are four tasks for you to choose from, the range of tasks include writing an essay, an article, a letter, a report or a review.  The exam preparation course will teach you how to approach the task and how to choose the correct register and how to write logically and skilfully.

English in Use - Your use of English grammar and vocabulary will be tested in this paper.  Your teacher will provide exercises, games and activities to help you improve your vocabulary and grammar and enable you to complete the exam tasks, which include gap-filling exercises, word formation, sentence transformations etc.

Listening – This paper consists of 4 parts. Each part contains a recorded text or texts and some questions, including multiple-choice, sentence completion and multiple matching. There will be a total of 30 questions and each text will be heard twice. During the course you will be given ample exposure to listening to different accents, situations etc.  You will also be given practice which will enable you to distinguish key words and to decide what is relevant to the listening task. 
 

Speaking – The speaking test consists of 4 parts. You will be given photographs and other visual aids and written material to talk about with your partner or with the examiner or both.  As part of the course, you will be given plenty of opportunity to discuss a variety of topics, give opinions, formulate answers, make comparisons, give descriptions and reach conclusions etc. 
 

Key English Test (KET) & Preliminary English Test (PET)

Lessons per week – 20 group + 10 individual lessons
Start date –8 weeks before exam date
Class size –  Group course -Maximum 8. Individual lessons- One-to-One (Student+Teacher)
Levels – Elementary to Pre-Intermediate

Price: Euro 290
